On December 30, 1952 country music legend Hank Williams -en route to engagements in West Virginia and Ohio- checked into the Redmont Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama. It would be his last full night on earth. He was pronounced dead on January 1, 1953 in Oak Hill, West Virginia, in all likelihood having died the night before.
On December 30th, 2013, Birmingham’s Bottletree Cafe will host Chad Fisher’s 5th Annual “Hank Night.” Join a very special country edition of Fisher’s band, along with guest singers from all over the region, as we commemorate the night and celebrate the life and music of Hank Williams.
Special guests to be announced soon!
